With two decades of teaching chess to students in public schools we have many reasons why chess must become a permanent part of the classroom curriculum. It is our gaol to continue to do this and at the same time try to get support from parents, teachers and administrators to help support our efforts. The Dorie Miller Chess Club founded by E.C. Chase in 1983 has helped many students improve academically and socially. Our program will continue to work with students and teachers to develop chess programs that will continue to promote chess in education.   Currently we are involved in helping schools in the San Antonio area develop chess programs and direct scholastic chess tournaments.
